Google Analytics

Google what?

Google Analytics is one of the most popular digital analytics software available today. And why shouldn’t it be? The reports that you can pull from your Google Analytics page can drive your entire digital strategy. Google Analytics allows you to analyse the visitors behaviour on your website. This software allows you to see not only how many people visit your website, but also what they are viewing, how long they stay on each page, what links they click through to and in what order, which page is more popular, how many clicks are made before they make contact and so on. The list is endless for the information Google Analytics can provide.

Tell me more!

Google Analytics is free. It simply requires that you have a Gmail account (again, free) and you place a small piece of Javascript in the form of a tracking code in the back end of your website (I can feel you panicking – don’t worry, we’ll do it for you). Then, this piece of code relays all of the visitors information on your website back to your Google Analytics account, where you can access the data and plan your future marketing strategies. For example, if you found out that people who visited your website clicked on your “About Us” page within five seconds and spent three minutes reading that page – you would think to make that page as accessible as possible and perhaps spend more time sprucing it up. It’s also a good way to track Google Advertising or Google Display Advertising campaigns to see if visits to your website increases when your spend does.

Google Analytics is perhaps one of the most important reporting tools out there.
